This course describes the skills and knowledge required to perform peripheral intravenous (PIV) cannulation.
It includes safety issues related to PIV cannulation, insertion of a PIV cannular, maintenance of a PIV cannular site,
complications that can occur with a PIV site, and removal of the PIV cannular.
This course educates participants on the basic principles of first aid, sports injury management, and sports injury prevention. The course also includes basic sports taping and player transport. The Level 1 Sports Trainer course will educate participants to act in the role of First Responder for all age groups on game days.
